Born and brought up in a family of similar backgrounds from Bihar, no one knew in their young days that these boys will someday rule the hearts of millions. When Sushant was born, Dhoni was five years old.
2002-2003 was the time when Sushant Singh Rajput was shining as a student in Physics Olympiads and Engineering examinations. This time Mahendra Singh Dhoni was struggling to find his place in the national cricket team and dwelling between the job as a ticket collector and cricket practice.
2004-2005, when Sushant Singh Rajput was putting baby steps towards his career in acting, Dhoni had been selected in the national cricket team and his scores of 148 and 183 were about to come very soon.
2006-2011, Sushant had entered small screen with a couple of ads. He started gaining popularity after his appearances in dance reality shows and as a daily soap actor during these years.2007 was the year when every Indian cricket fan saw the rise of a heroic leader with the last-ball win of India over Pakistan in T20 World Cup Finals. 2011 was the year when we saw that six from Dhoni at Wankhede, which millions of cricket fans cherish till date.
2013-2015, we saw the character Ishan Bhatt on screen. With this Kai Po Che movie, our local boy announced his appearance on the Big Screen. This was followed by his noticeable roles in movies like Sudh Desi Romance and PK. During this time, we saw Dhoni with his calmness like the sea and as the best finisher in several crucial and breathtaking matches for India and Chennai Super Kings.
2016, Sushant being the established actor and film star by now and Dhoni had been on the prime of his career. Now Sushant plays character Dhoni in his biopic. This movie depicts the rise of a local boy from grounds to one of the most successful captains of India cricket team in history. We were on a roller coaster ride during the whole movie. All our memories of 2007 and 2011 world cup were refreshed. And then we saw that mammoth six of Dhoni on the big screen. With these six two things happened, Sushant got the best hit of his acting career and Dhoni had achieved the mark on the memories of millions of Indian Cricket fans.
I wish life for Sushant had gone beyond what he achieved to date. More than that, I just wish he had a big brother with a calmness like Dhoni on his side in his low moments. People will cry and try to forget; things might be the same again. But what is important, is to keep people closer to you, who keep you kicking and running in your low times.
